    not good

here in boston we spend our fair share..but WE'RE being outspent by 70 MILLION !!

    here's what MLB needs

    some kind of cap

    shorter season 140 games

    MORE PLAYOFF TEAMS
just think for a 2nd...if you're in BMORE you have a slim shot at postseason this year (& u have a good team)..now lets say another wild card is avail...while the yanks/sox run away with the east..the O's fan base can still be excited about ball in august>>>>>higher attendence>>>>more concessions sold>>>>>>more revenue
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

To me, it's kind of funny that Steinbrenner might cause the one thing that would slow him down.

I don't like the more playoff teams personally. I don't want MLB to be like the NBA or NHL, where mediocre teams can get in the playoffs.

But I do agree with you about the salary cap and shorter season. I'd also like to see them drop interleague play.

I agree with devilsjaw, lets go back to a 154 game season and unbalanced schedule. I don't like the idea of more playoffs but keep the interleague as it's the only thing that Bud has done that is somewhat successful.

yeah i hear ya about mediocrity

but the postseason is crapshoot anyways (just ask the yanks)

especially in those best of 5ers

George Steinbrenner is the REAL commissioner of baseball and he rules like a feudal lord except his tax is not money, its players. Bud Selig is a puppet who likes the appearance that he is in pwoer and has to appease King George to maintain that illusion. Id really like it if this were teh event to initiate change except for the reason i mentioned I have my doubts.
