George Steinbrenner is the REAL commissioner of baseball and he rules like a feudal lord except his tax is not money, its players. Bud Selig is a puppet who likes the appearance that he is in pwoer and has to appease King George to maintain that illusion. Id really like it if this were teh event to initiate change except for the reason i mentioned I have my doubts.

Re: Let\'s clear the dust --
Baseball definitly needs someone with an iron fist to sit in the Commissioner's office. Selig is a former owner, and has too much interest on that side of the game. I'd like to see baseball get a no-nonsense kind of guy to run things. Someone who will tell both the players and owners to get their [censored] straight.Comment

yeah i hear ya about mediocrity
but the postseason is crapshoot anyways (just ask the yanks)
especially in those best of 5ers

I know this is why you want to reduce the season to 140 games but if you add more teams you might as well make it an 82 game schedule like the NBA and have 4 rounds of playoffs. I definitely dont think they need to add more playoff teams. I would like to see 154 games though but then that would justify raising ticket prices in a way that would go beyond recovernig lost revenue.Comment

I would be happy with Faye Vincent. There was nothing wrong with the job he did. I doubt hed want to deal with these yahoos at this point in his life though. Maybe Bush would be interested after he loses the election since he has such a keen interest in whats best for baseball.Comment
