What a lot of you are forgetting in the whole ARod deal, and how his numbers will stack up to Soriano's, take a look at the competition he will be facing now. Yes, he will face the Sox staff 19 times, but he now gets to face the D-Rays, O's, and to a lesser extent, the Jays pitching staffs. That's basically 60 games against arguably the 2 worst staffs in the game (D Rays and O's) and a mediocre at best one in the Jays (outside of Halladay). Whereas in the AL West, he had to face the A's and Mariners staffs 40 times, and to a lesser extent, the Angels. So I think whatever he loses in having to play 1/2 his games in Yankee Stadium will more than be made up by getting to face all this bad pitching in the AL East now...

Re: Concern for yankee fans
Arod had 30 Hits in 103 AB's against Baltimore, Tampa Bay and Toronto, only 4 of those Hits came against the Devil Rays in 33 AB's, he figures to see those staffs 3X more than he did last year, the Blue Jays have a decent staff, the Devil Rays could be the best the have ever had, and the Orioles...they do need help in the rotation, but i'm not sure that Rodriguez is going to go and hit everything out of the park every time he sees these teams, the Devil Rays were awful last year and he only hit .121 against them.Comment

I'll take my chances that he hits better than .121 against the D Rays this season. He had 100 ab's against those 3 teams last year, multiply that by about 3. Once he sees them and plays in hitter's parks like Camden, Skydome and to a lesser extent the Trop all the time, he will adjust, I'm sure. And even though this might be the 'best' D Rays staff they've had, it's still pretty bad in comparison.Comment
