Soriano is a potential 40-40 guy. I know the Yanks have Lofton now, but he is getting older. It may be a small detail, but one that I think could hurt in October, when runs are scarce...

I'd say he was on base a decent amount of time, with nearly 200 hits. If he ever learns to take a pitch, he could steal 50-60 bases easy.

            Not in the playoffs.

But yea, Soriano if he develops patience has the potential to be one of the best players in the game. He's fast, has a lighting quick bat, he can hit for power and contact. His fielding isn't good, but I always thought he was better suited for the outfield anyway, we'll see how that turns out. All this is potential. Last year he had good numbers, but he also had a few horrible slumps, and struggled big time in the playoffs. If he doesn't develop at least a little bit of patience, his numbers will drop more. When you can get the best player in the game, for a guy who still has questions marks, you do it.

You know if i were the Yanks i would have rather traded Hideki Matsui and a minor leaguer for A-rod instead of Soriano. Then you could always move Soriano over to left field. Also i want the d-backs to trade johnson because he is taking up a lot of cap room, plus we don't know if he will ever be the same again.
What about this trade: Hideki Matsui, Erick Almonte or whoever else the yanks have playing second, Kenny Lofton, maybe Jeff Lieber or some minor leaguers for Randy Johnson, Luiz Gonzalez, and Roberto Alomar, and possibly steve finley.

This way D-backs get rid of all their old players with big salaries.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.
