The A-Rod trade from a Rangers fan point of view.

Since it is so seldom heard...

I am frankly sick of the media. "Poor Red Sox their poor fans, oh no!" "the Yankees, the greatest team on the planet now has a payroll that is about a 5th of a billion dollars".
What about Rangers fans? Our ownership is full of idiots! We have lost 4 shoeins for the hall of fame in the last 2 years. They are going to lose like 67 million dollars to a player to go play for a team that has knocked the Rangers out of the playoffs every time they have even made it there.
Could somebody tell me why we couldn't have kept him til next year and actually gotten some use out of that 67 mil and break even?
For some reason even Nolan Ryan you know basically "The Franchise, The Tourist Attraction, Mr. Ranger" Is taking the same PR job he had with the Rangers quit last week and doing it for the Astros now. So now this team has no face. No identity. They are basically a minor league franchise like the Devil Rays or something. Oh and they won't even refund season ticket holders that they sent and E-mail to saying something to the effect of "oh yeah and the Boston thing didn't happen so we have A-Rod for the next year" great...
You know as a Ranger fan I am used to losing. But you at least had some "franchise players" that you liked and knew would blow home runs out of the park on a fairly regular basis. Juan Gonzales, Raphael Palmeiro, Pudge, A-Rod. So let's see along with no pitching we won't even have a killer offense. So excuse me while I skip the baseball thing all together this year and just spend the the summer hoping for a new QB for the Cowboys....

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post"> Yep, we'll see 162 AAA games on the major league level this year. I will probably be going to a few Frisco Roughrider (Ranger AAA) games this year. It's cheaper and they have a beautiful 2-year old Dr. Pepper/7UP Ballpark out there. It'll be a lot better than going to Arlington where they STILL HAVE NOT LOWERED TICKET PRICES. Tom Hicks has lied to the fans, the season ticketholders, and the media. I'm actually sick of this crap. Tom Hicks needs to SELL THE TEAM. If you're losing so much money, why not sell? Even the Dallas Stars are suffering because of the money he's blown with the Rangers. He's Scott Boras's BITCH! Chan Ho Park, the 60 million dollar minor leaguer. I grew up a Cub fan, and tried to find room enough in my heart for the Rangers after I moved to Dallas-Ft. Worth. The ownership is making it hard for me to cheer for the team. Then they trade the guy to the Yankees, of all teams. Now I hear my Cubs may lose out on Greg Maddux to the Yankees. Well SubZ, it's going to be a long season. I hope you're ready. First 19 games are against AL West rivals. We'll be out of it by the end of the first week. Hell, we're already out of it. I'll still go to a couple games in Arlington because it is a beautiful ballpark and there's nothing better than hanging out there on a summer evening. Buck Showalter has his team now. He didn't want A-Rod here in the first place.

I'm not a Rangers fan and losing the "arguably" best player in the game is a sour pill to swallow, but the Rangers are better off with Soriano instead of Ramirez.

Soriano has had some killer numbers the last two years. Grant it he had a poor WS but this kid should only get better.

As a Rangers fan, I can honestly say that my team is the Arizona Cardinals or Los Angeles Clippers of Major League Baseball.

well i think your team is taking a step in the right direction. your getting soriano, which i heard is moving to centerfield. he can hit and steal bases. even more important you guys will be able to get pitching which is what is need the most.
