One thing that needs to be tossed out of any baseball discussion is any mention of the NFL. It is way too different an animal for comparison.

There are 16 games a year, so ALL are highly anticipated, most will sell out, regardless of the team's quality, and all will be on at least regional television, again, because it's part of the fabric of an American Sunday afternoon.

Baseball games happen 162 times per year, at all times of the day and the week, leading to a much greater disparity of attendance percentages and TV viewership...

It's really stupid to compare MLB to NFL. There is a huge difference between two sports. I tried doing that, and I certainly pointed out the schedule and even the drafts, but it's best not to even go that far. No point in comparing NHL or MLB, and maybe even NBA to NFL.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

NFL is a NATIONAL TV CONTRACT

      MLB is mainly local

      so a :30sec ad in NYC is , say, $ 2700
a :30 sec ad in KC is maybe $750

      there's your difference

just ask nielson ratings if u don't believe me
