Bedard actually still had a no hitter going when he got pulled, too.

Apparently he asked to be taken out, which doesn't surprise me. He used to pull that **** all the time when he was in Baltimore. Even in '07 when he was a legit ace, he only had 2 starts over 7 innings. There were a few where he wasn't even at 100 pitches but still took himself out of the game.

Well now it makes perfect sense why his career would come to playing for a horrible Astros team. Who the hell takes themselves out of a game, period? Let alone a starting pitcher that isn't even at 100 pitches.

I saw the Nationals do it twice. In the last 2 days

Well LA is going for the sweep against the Nationals and spot Kershaw a 7 run lead thanks to Hanley being the hottest hitter in baseball and Kemp hitting a HR in his return back to the lineup.

He was at 109 and couldn't hit the strike zone anymore. He was done anyways.

The other crazy aspect of that game is that the Mariners didn't hit a home run snapping the 4th longest streak in MLB history for consecutive games with a HR. The Mariners?!?!

Watching the Blue Jays on a regular basis is bound to give diehard fans high blood pressure. This team just drives me crazy.

Oh well, wonderful ceremony for Delgado today though.

Looks like the 11 game winning streak was the high point of the season. Amazing to witness a second unravelling in one season.

Fernando Rodney makes it interesting in the 9th, but the Rays win for the sweep of the Blue Jays!

The Marlins haven't scored in 33 innings, so that's fun.

As of right now, the Rays are only one game back of Boston in the East.

They start a 4 game series with Boston tomorrow. This is going to be huge.

A White guy who has been in Philly for several seasons....versus Carlos Lee, not a White guy, who has never been in Philly other than for a series here and there.

Today, after Mets pitcher Wheeler recorded another strike out, he said "5th strike out today for Recker". Recker is the catcher. And he knows he's the catcher because just on the previous pitch he had to chase a ball down that got away from him a little bit. Such a goober.

I think he should be forced to listen to his own broadcast, twice, after each game. Stick McCarthy and Gary Matthews on the radio and bring Franzke and Larry Anderson over to TV. Anderson is at least entertaining.
I agree. McCarthy is horrendous to listen to. I met Scott Franzke last year and asked him about being on TV, and sadly he said he has zero interest in being a TV guy. He loves doing radio.
