But is there a "bad" team that has good team chemistry? It seems to me that when teams win they have good "team chemistry", but when they are losing it is not there. I don't think you can have it both ways. Did the Giants all of a sudden start hating one another this year? Did they lose because of a lack of team chemistry? This is one big reason why people say they won the WS last year. I am thinking they had a down year for players like Sandoval and Cain not performing to par more than anything.

When teams are winning it is easy to say they get along and everyone is happy, so yeah of course they are labeled as having good team chemistry. But obviously there are teams out there that have no chance to make the postseason with the rosters they put out before the season even starts, but why can't a group of these players have good team chemistry? I think it is irrelevant for baseball.

Don't get me wrong...I am sure it does help playing for someone you like and trust, but I would think in game tactics affect your wins/losses moreso than being a nice guy.
It's kind of like watching those home videos of the 2004 Red Sox that Kevin Millar shot during the Yankees series. Looking back everyone goes "Oh my gosh, what a group of idiots! Look at all the fun they're having carrying on in the clubhouse! Did someone just do a shot of Jack Daniels?! They're so loose!" Then you have the Red Sox who are losing and everyone goes "OMG! CHICKEN AND BEER IN THE CLUBHOUSE?! Undisciplined!"

But I understand Farrell will win. I'm not going to deny that. Just saying Francona probably SHOULD win it.
92 wins with your power threat being Nick Swisher and your closer being Chris Perez.

The Indians finished a game back of a team with Miguel Cabrera, Torii Hunter, Prince Fielder, Victor Martinez, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, and Anibal Sanchez.

      Francona deserves it easily.

        I wouldn't say easily.

Look at the A's stats up and down the board, both hitting and pitching. No one stands out over anyone else.

There could be an argument made for Melvin.

          Colon 18-6, 2.65 ERA
          Balfour 38 saves, 2.59 ERA
Josh Donaldson 30 HR and a .301 average

All 3 are something Indians really do not have, especially Donaldson and Balfour. I would LOVE to have Balfour over Perez.

Congrats to the Rays, they got two great performances from their two horses in Longoria and Price.

Rangers were lucky to have had Houston and LAA in their division, otherwise they probably don't even sniff the playoffs. Offense was just too inconsistent.

As a Rangers fan I'm a little torn on Washington as really like his personality and the players seem to really love him but he does really bug me at times specifically with his lineup decisions and his use of the bullpen.

Also I have really been impressed with Martin Perez, I know he lost last night but thought he showed some real poise considering the situation and limiting the damage early on.

I'd like to see Liriano pitch well tonight. Might even throw on his Twins jersey when I get home.

I smack talk Baker and Washington but there's no doubt that they have a magnetism but as Doc said they dunno how to do the in-game strategizing properly.

Anywho, i'm really cheering on the Pirates tonight!

                  Y'all sicken me.

So amped up for this game tonight. The baseball season is such a marathon, to have it all bottled up into one night... Wow!

Hope the bats show up against Liriano. And if he's dealing, Cueto has to match him pitch for pitch.

Hoping the Pirates win tonight. The team that actually has the fourth best record in the league should be in the playoffs. In fact, I think that's going to be my new rooting motto for these games. Always root for WC1.

I was in Pittsburgh over the weekend and the atmosphere there with the Pirates reminded me of Atlanta in 91 with the Braves. Hoping the Bucs win tonight to keep it going.

You mean 3rd best record? They have more wins than LAD.

A Braves/Pirates NLCS would be nostalgic after 1991/1992's great LCS's.

I'm rooting for a Braves/Pirates NLCS then a Braves/Cleveland WS with all the same outcomes of the 90s.
