If Brown is the main piece coming back for Jays, then it's not a great deal. Brown has only played 1 season of 100+ games(and that was the only good season he had too) sure he is still young and all, but who knows if this season was just a one time thing or if he'll be a guy who can get 25+HR and around 100RBI a season.

One of the sportscasters here in Philly who is very connected tweeted it and was also the one who gave the report on TV. Not sure if it would be a 1 for 1 trade or if more pieces would be involved. Hoping more news pops up on this.

Yeah, Bautista in CBP would be ridiculously scary. I guess if the Phillies move Brown it would be considered selling high. His numbers last year were very skewed. Most of his damage came in a 4 week stretch before the All-Star break. After the break he was very average. That 4 weeks was when the majority of his home runs were hit. Not saying Brown can't replicate it in the future, but it's hard to tell with him. Shows flashes at times and nothing other times.

Oh, I know what you mean about Brown. I don't even consider that he had a good year in 2013. He had a good month and then a pretty poor year. His numbers at the end of the year look okay, but it wasn't a solid performance from start to finish.

Until I see something from Jon Heyman, Ken Rosenthal, or MLBTR, I'm taking the rumor with a grain of salt. Still interesting to think about though.

If the Phils could get some offense and the pitching bounces back, they could be back in the thick of the NL East race.

Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez is a wild card in this rotation. Very anxious to see the man pitch. Hope he turns out to be a good one.

If it's a one for one swap I don't like it. Also that's pretty funny if it happens because if memory serves me well Brown was highly coveted by the Jays when they traded Halladay to Philly.

Anyone think Ellsbury or Choo ends up in Seattle?

Heyman, Rosenthal and Davidi have all shot Bautista/Brown down. Thank god. AA is stupid but he isn't THAT stupid. What a horrible deal that would have been.

The Orioles and Cardinals had trade talks revolving around Shelby Miller and J.J. Hardy, but the Cardinals told Baltimore there's …

I'd say Ellsbury ends up with the Mariners. I don't really see any other team willing to give him as much as Boras wants.

I would imagine it's gonna cost a lot to get Matt.

Probably one of their top prospect arms for sure.
