A sad day for a former Twins fan.

i have been the most dyhard twins fan for the best 10 years.
but after this offseason im threw with this team. no effort was givin to improve this team in the offseason none! they are worse on paper then they were last year. everyone new what the twins needed last year to win the WS, it was a power hitter and maybe 1 more solid vet in the pen. so what do the twins do they get Shannon stewert and no help for the pen and of course the twins lose to the yanks because the couldnt hit a AA staff. All they do is complain here in minnesota about a new stadium and how the yanks have all the money blah blah blah.last time i checked Carl Polad was a muti billionair so big deal if the twins payroll went up to say 75 or 80 million when the team made 55 million or so last year. when you are in a small market you have to pick you times to spend the extra cash like when your very close to winnng, example K.C. this year. but the team that i think is doing it the best is the Cleveland Indians they understand that this year is not the year to spend. i feel the tribe are alot like the twins of maybe 3-4 years ago but the diff. is I think the tribe when the get close to going all the way will be willing to spend the extra cash to but them over the top. I dont Think the Twins will ever spend any extral cash just to win.I am now a Tribe fan because i respect the way the run there franchise and they have a very bright future ahead of them.

P.S. i will be attended as many Indians games as I can to support there young talent.

I hope you Fellow Tribe fans will except me! lol

The Indians owner is just as bad, though.

I like how your reason for liking them is "They will be good in a few years"
    Michigan Wolverines

i disagree about the there owner being just as bad as the twins Polad. Polad will Never spendto improve this team while cleveland has spent when the time is right. small market teams have s small window to win a dn when the get close they better take advantage of it cuz it could be a while before you get another chance.

Although I agree with you about Pohlad, I hate it when people change their favorite teams. Yes, Pohlad is a tight *** owner. Yes, the Twins lost key players this offseason because of it. But should a fan change his or her favorite team because of the owner? I don't think so.

Anyone who claims to be a fan of one team and changes his favorite team to a division rival wasn't a true fan in the first place. A true fan can call out his team for questionable moves. A true fan can hate his favorite team's owner for being a tight *** who refuses to spend money. But a true fan always knows where his loyalties lie and doesn't claim to be a fan of a division rival because of how his team looks on paper.

I personally have been a Twins fan since I was young and will remain one for the rest of my life. As a lifelong Twins fan, I think I speak for Twins fans in the upper midwest and around the world when I say good ridance. You weren't a fan in the first place.
