that would be quite a commitment to take on for a player that has been hurt for the last 3 years.

I think some teams can afford him, but not sure if they're able to risk it like you said, nor if they need him. I still am hopeful that Griffey can get back to form, but with the loss of his batspeed, I don't know. He's still a great OF though.
The Dodgers are one of the teams that come to mind who would benefit from having him, but I doubt their owner is going to spend right away, especially since he just bought the team.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

i tink some cash would have to be thrown in the deal as well.....along with at least 1 bad contract coming back to the Reds.....tough call, really.....maybe the Red Sox bite if they can dump Damon and B.K. Kim???

Hrm, I was under the impression that the contract was backloaded and was skewed in such a way that he would be getting SUBSTANTIALLY bigger money then he's getting according to Pol's numbers. He must've restructured his deal sometime ago or I was mistaken.

Anyways only the real big spending teams are going to be able to afford Griffey but they too may have to give up some talent/expense. I do like wawasman's suggestion of the BoSox but i'd give up someone other than Damon. Who's gonna be their lead-off guy?

as for leadoff in Boston, why not give Nixon a shot? he may just surprise...id say Reese, but the man cant hit
