    re: MLB Off-Topic

I came across this picture today, it just gives off such a great baseball feel. I'm a huge Ted Williams fan, I love how much work and thought he put into hitting (I've read The Science of Hitting countless numbers of times). In here you can see him getting as close to the batters box as he can so he can see the release point and see everything as closely as he would when he is up to bat. I'm obviously way way too young (21) to have ever seen him play, but man I wish I could have. My grandma was a huge fan of his and lived fairly close to Boston when he played, so I love to listen to her stories.

When I actually go to games, I love to separate myself from the big picture and just take it in for what it's worth. I look forward to doing that at least a few times this season.

I've seen this picture before…it's awesome. The funny thing is if a batter stood there today in warm ups I think the pitcher would throw it at him…it's against those 'unwritten' rules, but apparently was okay in Ted's day.

Probably because of who it was lol. Any regular ol' ballplayer wouldn't get away with it, but Teddy Ballgame had his own rules.

EDIT: I hate to mention them in the same post, but never-before-seen footage of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig from the day before Gehrig's amazing streak. No idea who the guy is behind Ruth.

                Another Blue Jays related note:

This is going to be a HUGE weekend with the exhibition series in Montreal. This is a slight test for the people trying to get baseball back to Montreal as the attendance is going to be monitored and the fan interaction etc etc. I'm hoping for huge crowds for both Friday-Saturday. The Big "O" was lousy when it was empty but when they had fans in there it was a rockin' atmosphere.

Tomorrow they're going to have a tribute to Gary Carter before the game and on Saturday before the game they're going to have a tribute to the '94 Expos with a lot of those Expos players being on hand for the ceremony.

If you have a Roku and wanna watch Japanese baseball, get the JustinTV channel and search for baseball. I randomly typed "baseball" in a search last night and got presented with several channels. Pretty neat.

Today (April 9) was 5 years since Nick Adenhart was taken from us by a drunk driver.

Man...I seem to remember Adenhart had a promising future in the bigs too. He was the Angels top ranked prospect at one point right?

                              That was a tragic day.
