It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Having Puig last year and Bauer in exchange for him into this year, it’s been fun stuff for Cincy lately. Hopefully we can add some W’s for the full ride.

Thought this was a pretty interesting article regarding the Houston scandal.

Her husband had just slipped into their apartment just outside of Austin, Texas, late that Tuesday night following a Triple-A game when the phone buzzed. With it came the jubilation of a call-up to The Show. It was May 2, 2017, and Anthony Bass' baseball career was headed back in the right direction.

barring injury, Mike Trout will pass Joe DiMaggio in career WAR for 6th place all-time among CF'ers, and take 5th place in 2021, passing Griffey Jr.

be awhile before we start talking about catching Mickey Mantle for 4th, or let alone Willie Mays for 1st.

He's no Deion Sanders but still.

Larry Walker will serve as the Colorado Avalanche emergency backup goalie. Meaning he's 2 Sunday goalie injuries away from playing in the NHL.

After the zamboni guy saved the game a few weeks ago, is playing in the NHL even a big deal any more?

If you see the size of NHL goalie equipment you'll realize how anyone could make some saves.

Guys literally make saves in games without even attempting to block the shot because they didnt see the puck.

It'd be like scoring or stopping a goal in a soccer shootout. Can score or save a shot on pure luck.

Or drawing a walk in baseball. You could suck but just stand there and let the pitcher work himself into trouble.

Goalies have pretty swift reaction time that I see a hell of a lot of skill involved, and the reaction wasn't simply pure luck.

And while the pads are big, if you recall they reduced the pad sizes in the early-to-mid 2000's. They used to be even bigger before that.

I believe the first step instinct to mostly be pure luck. Maybe the most skilled goalies can read something in the body language of the kicker without being deceived, and many good goalies also have good second-move reactions to adjust after going one direction... but if you go right and the ball goes left, you ain't gonna save it.

I think there is an art to taking pitches outside of the strike zone. The "luck" that comes into play is whether you get those pitches out of the zone to begin with. If a player is thrown nothing but strikes, it's impossible to walk. Simple as that.

Some people think OBP is overrated because of the BB/HBP amount, but I sense a high correlation between those numbers and the players who are receiving them. That being said, a pitcher walking is pure luck.
