Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Pedro will be joining MLB-N this season on the MLB Tonight show and making regular appearances on their other programming. He will continue to do postseason work for Turner as well.

@Ken_Rosenthal: MLB just issued statement saying that Josh Hamilton will not be suspended. The arbitrator decided he did not violate his treatment program.

What a joke. Not only was he not suspended, but faced none of the backlash other athletes with illegal drug related issues have.

              "sigh"

This is why MLB will always be dogged with questions regarding their drug policy.

Think you could pull off a 30 stadiums in 30 days road trip? Here's a generator. You feed it a starting stadium and date and it figures out the rest. http://slate.me/1BR6NeR

                        Re: MLB Off-Topic

Just a random thing, but what is peoples take on giving away foul balls/home run balls?

Lets say you catch a ball or something, and there's either some younger kid(that you don't know/have any relation to) near to you.....Do you give them the ball, or keep it for yourself? Or what about if it's some kid who isn't even sitting anywhere near to you,and asks for it? Would you give it to them or not?

Just thought of this today when watching a game and saw someone catch a foul ball with their bare hands, and then some younger kid comes running from 2-3 sections across just to ask that guy if he could have the ball(didn't see if he got it or not though). Surely there's some sort of unwritten rule on this type of stuff?

I've always wondered what I'd so in this situation also, cause I've unfortunately never caught a foul or home run ball before(I've gotten some though, but it's mostly due to sitting near security guy by field level), so even if there's some kid near me,I'd wanna keep that ball, cause whenever it does happen,it'd be the first time ever I'd have caught a ball in all the years I've gone to a game. I'm not gonna give it up to some random kid I don't even know.

                          I would keep the ball.

                            MLB Off-Topic

Well, on my 10th birthday, I saw the Dodgers play at Miller Park, Brooks Keishnick hit a foul ball off chan ho park and the older gentleman in front of me caught it. My dad and I had talked to him prior to this moment, and had mentioned that it was my birthday. I asked if I could just see the ball, as I never had gotten a game ball before. He handed it to me and said "happy birthday kid". I'll never forget that moment the rest of my life.

My philosophy is, a foul ball, if there's a real young kid right by me, I'll give it to the kid. At a minor league game last summer, I caught two foul balls, and gave both away to a like 8 year old twin brother and sister that were sitting next to my buddy and I. But I made the little boy listen to the story about my first foul ball, in hope he continues the trend one day.

Home run balls are mine though.

I caught like 3 balls at a Jays game once when I was much younger and I had parents coming up to me (as a kid, I'm still pretty young lol) asking for them on behalf of their kids who were as old as I was. Which I thought was kinda eh. If a little kid asked me though, sure.

I've gotten a few over the years and have always given them to the nearest kid.

I have no reason to keep it.
