...thus goes away with the Draft Pick comp.

I'm guessing this would incentivize clubs to trade away players at the deadline now, if they know they won't resign in the offseason.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

What did I miss, how are they just adding universal DH and draft lottery? Wouldn’t that be part of the negotiations?

The core economics meeting is on Saturday... Definitely will be more coming with the new CBA.

Haha. I used to be an NL rules guy too, but the 2020 season kind of swung me into liking the DH.

I will miss watching pitchers try to hit. That was entertaining. Watching them try to bunt was not though

Manfred says he believes his side has a really good proposal for the next meeting on Saturday, says he doesn't expect a delay to Spring Training, and is optimistic about the regular season going on as scheduled (which means ST will get delayed, and the season may get pushed back as well).
That sounds like a PR move. Like other comments we've heard from sides already. The whole "we offered a good deal, if it wasn't for the other side disagreeing, we'd be out of a lockout right now."

Removing the DH will make zero difference in terms of ratings or the popularity of the sport, but whatever.

Lottery is so unnecessary. NBA style stuff to drum up interest. Baseball doesn't have players who make immediate jumps to the pros.

People forget it was Junior who started the backwards hat trend. His reasoning:

I wear my hat backwards because my dad had a 'fro and I wanted to wear his hat. If I put his hat on at age six, and he's got an eight and a half (hat size) and I got like a little five, it's not really gonna stay on my head. So I just turned it around because I just wanted to wear my dad's hat.

Remains to be seen how they'll implement the lottery. I'm with teams not intentionally tanking to be guaranteed a high draft pick for "rebuilding" years.

I don’t see a lottery doing much unless they make it so there is a chance the team with the worst record could end up picking in the teens or twenties. If worst case you drop from one to five that won’t deter anyone from tanking. This isn’t the NFL or NBA where you can land a guy with the #1 pick that instantly turns your franchise around
