    Damn
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yeah I have actually grown to like both rules. I enjoyed the DH in the NL in 20. I was originally against the 3-batter rule, but I don't think it came into play all that often, and it created kind of a cool new risk-reward strategy when bringing in a specialist to get one out.

I don't hate the 3 batter rule. I still think it's weird but I'll take that over 1 batter pitching changes. Between the DH and the beer league softball rules for extra innings though, I didn't watch baseball in 2020 except for a few games in the playoffs.

I'm not sure if I will go that far going forward, but I can honestly say that I care less about what was always my favorite sport with my favorite team, that just won a championship, today than I have at any other point in my life (excluding 2020). Had covid never happened, I still would have cancelled my season tickets this year, and I'm certainly not renewing it in the future.

Others can enjoy the new rule and that's fine. For me it's not the brand of baseball that I want to watch.

Yeah this does make sense actually. With DH we are beyond "every position must bat," so what is even the point.

Choosing to take out a pitcher for a pinch hitter was one of the things I enjoyed about watching NL baseball. If I wanted to watch 38 year old Joe Steroids trying to keep a job in the majors I'd watch the AL.

During an interview with Dusty Baker last season, he mentioned that he enjoyed coaching in the NL versus the AL as it involved more strategy.

I thought he retired after the WS run honestly, but always liked him. High school in Virginia Beach, UVA for college, whole career with the Nats, he’s basically a state hero.

So the last active draft pick of the Expos, and first draft pick by the Nats retire in the same offseason.

Was Ian Desmond the last active Expo pick?

Gotcha I thought I saw somewhere that Desmond had retired but maybe I was imagining that. I know he's opted out each of the last two years.

Correct. He opted out of 2020 for health concerns, then decided to opt of 2021 for the same reason. And the Rockies bought out his contract in November and made him a free agent.
