I had to think about that post for a second to realize what you meant.

But that would be a whole new grievance filed by the PA wouldn't it?

If some team with a guy on a bad expiring deal wants to get rid of him, what if they did deal him to Toronto? Would someone go all Kyrie and just not get vaccinated? Or do they just get vaccinated to get their millions?

And would the PA step in here saying its collusion or something?

      A ladder fall?

That's crazy tragic, and does not help give me comfort for my fear of ladders.

When I first read the headline I thought it said it was a car accident, and I was going to say that it seems there are a lot of those in the D.R. for baseball players, especially during the offseason when they're home. It's not that here, but damn it's another one where someone was claimed far too young, and in this case very innocently.

Joe Buck leaving Fox for ESPN MNF. I'm sure that will make some folks happy. Personally I didn't mind Buck, but he does sort of seem like a prick. I wonder who the new voice of the World Series will be?

Best news of the off season. I actually don’t mind him for NFL games, but something about his voice when he’s calling a baseball games drives me nuts

It’s probably the snoring…to be honest, he’s been doing it so long he’s kind of grown on me, but none of the announcers today have the impact older generations did on me (Buck, Scully, Allen, Michaels, the Careys, etc).

I don't mind Buck other than I used to feel more Cardinals homerism in him than I do now. It's when I tapped into him in radio interviews as he was promoting his book that I leaned toward him a little more. He's fine for me, but the Giants played the Cardinals so often in playoff games that I couldn't shake off any one-sidedness all the time.

His former partner Tim McCarver, on the other hand, was an idiot.

I disliked McCarver so much, he made me halfway like Deon Sanders.

At least he isn't Jim Gray.

Actually I think Bob Costas is my most disliked sports journalist.

yeah, McCarver is only an idiot. Grey is total asshat. give me an idiot over asshat any day of the week. as for Costas, I actually like him. even if he is the male version of Katie Couric

and sports version of Dick Clark lol

                        MLB banning shifts in 2023.

As a person who had been hoping for specific shift restrictions for two decades, they went above and beyond. They shouldn't have done that in my opinion (mostly because you probably can't go back), but maybe some normalcy may be found again.

as long as the new no-shift rule is generic and simple, like only 2 infielders on each side of secondbase, then I won't mind that.
but I don't want some Billy Martin-type hothead manager running out on the field demanding the ump get out his tape measure, the shortstop is positioned 3 feet too far to the right lol

It’ll be interesting to see if we just get the entire infield in motion when the pitcher winds up like NFL defenses faking blitzes and dropping back into coverage.
