Though yes, I have had bad injuries. I'm on a six-month long concussion (and still ongoing) from a line drive comebacker to my head as I was throwing BP to my softball players. The girl who hit me was 16, and she is ****ing strong. I don't know how fast it came back to me, but considering I'm still having persisting symptoms since November 5th... well, you know the rest. I think if somebody had a video of that, that might look pretty much as bad as any other MLB videos that show that exact same thing.

      Holy crud, Blzer!

I broke my ankle on a skateboard last September (stupid action -- once and only time on a skateboard) and I'm $3K in the hole. I'd hate to see the bills for a concussion though as those MRIs can be quite costly, if you go that far.

How good was your team, BTW?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Well I'm a high school teacher, so my health benefits are extraordinary. I've only had one CT scan and one MRI since the concussion, both with good results in general (though apparently I have a chronic sinus infection lol).

I had a brutal skating injury in high school which kind of screwed up my senior year baseball season. It wasn't anything gruesome, but my back/neck was affected bad enough that I had to call it quits for skating if I wanted to keep playing baseball seriously.

My travel team is pretty beastly. We're prepping again for this summer, and my JV high school season is coming to a close this year (I'm coaching varsity next year, thankfully). My high school team was doing well until the following happened:

        1) I lost my lead-off hitting CF to varsity.
        2) I lost my #4 hitting SS to grades (ineligibility).
        3) I lost one of my pitchers to a mild concussion (she's now back).
        4) My #1 pitcher can still participate in games, but with her club soccer team starting up again she can no longer attend practices, thus her pitching time is limited.
        5) I lost one assistant coach to a promotion in work.
        6) I can't do **** physically because of my damn concussion.

So my high school season hasn't been my favorite of all time, haha.

Anyway, despite all of this I am still not a fan of things like pitchers or base coaches being required to wear extra protection. We have to now wear helmets coaching bases (unrelated to my incident), but I was going to be doing that anyway as long as I was concussed, and probably a little after that as well. Unfortunately, I have been setback so much that I can't even coach bases right now. Even still, I am too stubborn to say that this should be a requirement. Just an option, I say... even though I could have been killed from the comebacker.

Stars and Stripes Caps for this year. The Dodgers are the only team to reveal them so far.

They feel kinda truckerish to me.

I shudder to think what the Canadianized version looks like with the Blue Jays.

Justin Masterson looks like he's out of the Sox rotation now. What the hell happened to that guy? Wasn't he a really good pitcher for Cleveland just a couple years ago?

He's lost all velocity on his fastball. When Boston brought him in I thought long relief would be his roll. I don't think he has the stuff to be a starter anymore.

In his defense no one in the Red Sox starting rotation looks like much of a MLB starter at the moment.

Ehh...I get it. The other folks appear as though they are contractors working at Baltimore (not for the team since they are hired/working thru a separate company). There are several contractors within my department at work who simply do not get paid when they don't work (whether it's holidays, sick time, or they advanced time they've requested off).

That said, I'd like to see Baltimore go the extra mile but...I'll take the glass half-full approach seeing that they at least took care of their own.
