Get away with it is relative. The fan was absolutely a bitch and should be banned from attending MLB games, but Rendon deserves punishment as well. He crossed a line you just can't cross as a professional athlete.

And if you're that upset about being called a name by a random person, you've got other issues.

Literally minor news but the Vancouver Canadians (Jays A affiliate) has been sold to a US company. They promise its just "business as usual".

I never realized minor league owners could control where the team winds up. I always thought the MLB team has a say/control in things like that?

The league just underwent a minor league shuffling which led to Jays demoting their longtime affiliate in Dunedin in favor of their lone Canadian affiliate. If that team gets moved, wonder if Jays would be allowed shuffling their farm system again.

Yeah it's kind of a weird system. They minors are affiliates, and the MLB clubs set the rosters for the minors, but everything else to do with the franchise is up to the owners of those franchises.

Typically things like, "Hey we want to see this guy playing everyday," Come from the MLB level down, but in regards to promotions, team funding...etc, that stuff is all on the level of the minor league team owners.

Yup. I love going to games, but I can't stand to see such low attendance numbers.

I went to a game last year against the Yankees when Judge was at 49 HR, and it was deservedly packed. That's what it takes, though. Anything else is just shameful.

Maybe they will drop below 2,000 for a game this season. At least for the announced attendance. They've already been there in reality.

The Arizona Coyotes playing in a college hockey arena are about to draw more fans than the As are, that's about as big a diss as you can make in modern sports.

I don't love ads on jerseys, but I can live with them if they're not ridiculous and blend in with the jersey (like some NHL teams have and a decent amount of ones in the NBA too)

                    Something like that is ridiculous.

Brady Ware, a pitcher at D2 University of Indianapolis, just threw a no-hitter.

He also hit for the cycle in the same game.

Wouldn't be the first time. The Canadians were Oakland's AAA affiliate for years (they won the AAA World Series in '99 with Hudson/Mulder/Zito; I remember attending a game that season with Buck Martinez!). Before the 2000 season, they were sold and moved to Sacramento; the Canadians became Oakland's High-A affiliate for a decade after that before the Jays took over.

Article on ESPN saying Cohen saw the memes about Phillie colors on the patch and is going to work to get the colors changes. This could be a HUGE win win for all of us.

As a small business owner myself I'm interested to see how this plays out. Our logo is our brand, I'm not sure how I would feel about seeing it in a different color.

As a baseball fan, it's potentially a huge win for the fans. Granted not every owner is going to care as much about public perception as Cohen does, but if companies were willing to allow their patch colors to match uniform colors, this would satisfy all of us.
