Hopefully they can find a good way to broadcast games for these teams moving away from Bally.
Padres games are going to be available to local fans on mlb tv for $20 per month. They’ve got something in the works where cable companies will be carrying them too. I’d imagine we’ll start seeing this with more teams as they don’t get their rights fees

Between the Kuiper firing and now the backlash against Bass...man, baseball is serving as an example of how insane society has become. The Kuiper firing shows how context and intent apparently mean nothing, which is a truly mindless response. Literally mindless. And the Bass thing, I mean...who cares? Who drinks Budweiser to begin with?

People, if someone is not actually threatening or encouraging bodily harm to someone else, but you don't like what they're saying, it's fine. Nothing needs to happen. No "conversation" is needed.

Supposedly a ton of players are talking to their agents trying to get the union to stop some of the forced endorsement of social/political causes. It's a mess all around.

Players will just remove social media accounts, only post paid content, or hire someone to post for them. Unfortunately we are past the point where a player can voice a different opinion than the team and MLB approved group think opinion. As long as you aren't posting as a representative of the team, i.e. remove team references and make it clear it's a personal account, you should be allowed to say what you want.

Bass may have had issues because of Canada but haven't seen it said if he violated any laws or caused the team issues.

Unless MLB is selling the rights to local stations or providers, you will pay more. You are now forced to pay for MLB.tv when those games were all blacked out previously and made a subscription worthless. Your cable provider isn't going to lower your RSN fee immediately unless it's a contract violation.

I think I saw MLB was going to allow local broadcast on DTV, Comcast, etc, so hopefully that would be without additional charges but who knows how long that lasts as MLB and Padres lose money without someone paying to broadcast the games.

It’s good news for those that only have cable so they can watch their local team

So, is this A's Vegas stadium deal even happening? Or is this gonna be an epic disaster?

Sounds like Strasburg’s career is likely over.

Between things like this and Tatis, it's surprising this hasn't set the bar for long term negotiations.

Tatis with the injury/suspension and this year hasn't bounced back fully (under .800OPS and on pace for probably 35HR is great, but it's not the well over .900OPS and 40HR potential worth 36M a year)

Strasburg cashed in big after winning the WS and that WS was really the last moment for him in his playing career (minus those several total starts over the last 3 years).

But that won't stop players from wanting these big long term deals and teams giving them out despite history not being on the side of these deals working out.

                          MLB ASG voting is open.

I always find it weird when voting is open now when you have over a month before the game.

                          My early ballot would be:

                          AL
                          C-Heim
                          1B-Diaz
                          2B-Semien
                          3B-Chapman
                          SS-Bichette
                          OF-Judge
                          OF-Alvarez
                          OF-Lowe
                          DH-Ohtani
                          SP-Gausman

                          NL
                          C-Murphy
                          1B-Freeman
                          2B-Gorman
                          3B-Miller

Jon Singleton is back on a major league roster (Brewers) for the first time since 2015. The Brew Crew cut ties with Luke Voit.

I find it weird when counselors e-mail us a month before the school year is over asking if our seniors are going to pass or fail our class, as if the last month doesn't have any impact or telling them then and there wouldn't completely alter how the student would operate that last month of the school year.
