It's to prepare the family mostly. The kid knows, the family usually doesn't and the counselors don't want the family to feel blindsided

It took me a few seconds before I realized you meant school guidance counsellors and not some city counsellor, I was wondering why would some local city worker care about the well being of students.

Paying Rendon or Strasburg. Put us in a tough spot looking at how both of their careers have gone since then no way to win that situation.

Bad news on deGrom, he got moved to the 60 day IL although they say it’s not a setback and he’s just not making any progress. Such a shame what has happened to his career, the way he would only pitch to one side of the plate and for the most part only throw two pitches and still dominate was amazing

Also saw the Nationals weren’t able to get insurance on the Strasburg contract so they’re on the hook for everything he is owed

The news got worse. Twitter now exploding with those three most hated words: Tommy John Surgery.

Terrible news, but hopefully this will put an end to his string of constant nagging arm issues and he stays healthy for the last three years of his contract

It's probably happening, but the votes aren't there for the money from the NV legislature currently. Dealmaking in progress. The legislative majority (skeptical) and governor (wants it) are different political parties, so friction is not unexpected in addition to all the typical hysterics around stadiums and public funding. That's complicated as most would expect, by Kaval's efforts (or lack thereof) to put out a quality product in Oakland and unlike the Raiders who spent a year very visibly working with lawmakers and whatnot the A's are nowhere to be found at this 11th hour. They surface outside of legislative sessions (and have appeared previously) but most aren't sure why they aren't readily available to get this across the finish line.

Rooting for the project to happen, but plenty of well-warranted pessimism.

Sounds like the A’s game plan was to go in there and sell the legislature on getting tourists in the seats for 4pm home games before they go to a show. Seriously.

Nothing at all about building all home fan base.

A's ownership being incompetent as usual.

Tomorrow will be an interesting game in Oakland. The fans had been planning this for awhile prior to the first Vegas announcement and then I stopped hearing about it but I guess it's still on.

They are planning to do a reverse boycott tomorrow and wanted to do it on a weekday after school was out against any team not named the Yankees or Red Sox. Should be interesting to see.

The Rays of all teams is an interesting choice.

Usually one of the lower attended games on the road, although ticket prices usually end up cheaper for those games.

Minus the ticket prices point (because that isn't much of an issue) that's the point. Hence the elimination of Yankees, Red Sox.

The goal was initially meant to show that the fans aren't the problem.

The most interesting part, and I still can't figure out how this was approved, is that the promo tomorrow for the first whatever fans is that they get a T shirt that says "SELL."

the reverse boycott is a bold strategy, lets see if it pays off
