Re: MLB Off-Topic
A team getting a week off (plus whatever they rested after clinching)? That wouldn't help the hitters timing. Plus you can't cram up any more games to October; things are getting out of hand with some WS games this year scheduled for November.
Plus I like that few teams make the postseason, makes it special and a real achievement. Not ridiculous like the NBA where over half of the teams make the playoffs.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

I agree...the Carolinas have a heavy alliance toward Atlanta that I don't perceive can be broken/swayed. I'd be amazed if they have a team in Mexico.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Just been informed Pete Rose is seriously considering ownership in a Las Vegas franchise known as the Las Vegas Betters.Comment

lol, obviously that is a joke. But if anyone ever goes after a Vegas team, I'd think we might see some billionaire going after MLB,NBA AND NHL team at once.Comment

Jays promoted prospect Jeff Hoffman to AA. Could end up being one of the steals in that draft class. Astros were gonna take him 1st overall in 2014 but then his TJ Surgery made them back off him completely. He slipped to 9th and Jays took him.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Would 12/32 teams making playoffs really be a bad thing? I mean, look at how much better things are for MLB with 2nd WC spot already. You have more meaningful games for more teams now, so more fans attending and watching games since they're not completely out of playoff race.
- The fact now MLB has playoffs games running into November? How would an additional week fit in?
- How about the possibility of having too much time off might be a detriment to #1 seeds negating the advantage, of, well, being the #1 seed.
As for your point about the WC, it certainly has had a positive effect on some aspects like:
- keeping plenty of teams in the playoff hunt like you stated
- plus the fact that it has made Division Titles important again since teams are scared ****less of their season coming down to a 1 playoff, winner takes all game.
- WC teams will more likely burn their best pitcher on the take all game making him unavailable to start the DS penalizing the WC even further and conferring a tangible advantage to the higher seed.
Bad thing I see about the WC is the ridiculous nature of having a 162 game season coming down to 1 game. I don't think baseball lends itself well to that format (if you happen to actually care about the best team advancing).OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Also I'm pretty sure the Jays-specific thread cares more about Jays prospects than this one"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Yea unless it's their #1 prospect getting promoted to the MLB or prospects being traded most fans don't care about prospects.Comment
