This dude has a well documented history of jack-assery. Not surprised in the least.

re: MLB Off-Topic
I was thinking the same thing. I was at a Phillies game where Olivo actually stole the keys to the Phanatic's ATV before the game. Then he ripped the Phanatic's tail off. No lie.Last edited by PhilliesFan13; 05-20-2014, 10:22 PM.Comment

I remember a few years ago him following around Carlos Delgado & David Wright looking for his keys. He then found out Wright had them, and tried to arrest him.Comment

Makes me wanna start my franchise over and turn DH on for the NL.
I've never understood why they have two different set of rules. Glad he used common sense to show how dumb it is.

I could go either way. It had been split for 17 years before I was born, and it's been split the 23 years since. So all I've known is the different rules.
I am leaning towards the NL adding it, though. Nothing wrong with more offense.Boston Red Sox

I highly prefer non-DH to DH, but if baseball goes to a universal DH it will still be baseball and I'll still watch. The truth, though, is that the DH was/is a gimmick to generate more offense. People can complain about poor hitting pitchers all they want…why not emphasize hitting with pitchers and make them better at it?"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

lol, Marlins president was on Survivor and first one out back in February. Tonight at the reunion show when he was given chance to talk about the season, he basically said "I thought I was going to be playing in October and instead I lost the pennant in April". Guess he really did play Survivor like he manages the Marlins.Comment

re: MLB Off-Topic
I keep coming back to the Rick Wise quote, that I think may be in my Sig if I was I the computer.
"The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."
9 guys hit, 9 guys bat. Pitchers are still important even if they're not hitting 300. Pro baseball may have a lack of offense, but it's still bringing in enough for the Angels to cough up 50 million a year to two guys and the Mariners to cough up a bigger chunk to one. Besides, why does baseball need more offense? Everyone says it's a problem, but no one seems to know why.
And yeah, that wasn't an argument, that was a guy saying we should change the rules because there are an equal number of teams on the league and the AL managers have to actually manage late in games. "I don't know how the double switch works! Let's do away with it!"
Sorry to rant, but the DH is a joke, and makes games more boring to watch imo.
You don't care where I sent this from."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."
