That doesn't mean it's 'better' though. I hear people say 'The DH gives us more offense'…okay, why not give hitters aluminum bats then? That would certainly generate offense! For every 'argument' I hear for the DH, there is a counter that is just as valid. We might end up seeing the DH all throughout the majors, but it really isn't the best baseball IMO.

I don't like the DH rule. I'm fine with two leagues and two rules, but I really do not want to see all DH. However, I do expect this to happen soon, and I'll live.

Resubscribed to BT Sport last night so Twins @ Giants was my first game of the season.

None of the hits that got Nolasco in trouble early on were solidly struck.

Two popups and a broken bat single in there somewhere.

Giants took it easily in the end though.

I think you have a very valid point in that there are counter arguments for each. But it makes no sense for two conferences under the same league to have two different rules. I just want them to pick one. Because both have equal positives and negatives I wouldn't care which one.

It's like the NFC having a true kicker on the roster, but the AFC rules are a positional player kicks for you instead.

Or in the western conference, who ever gets fouled shoots the free throws. In the eastern conference, they have a designated free throw shooter.

None of that makes any kind of logical sense.

Pretty good read on baseball's unwritten rules:

Baseball's rollicking code of conduct, from the players who live by self-regulated standards that don't exist in print: The Unwritten Rules.

A couple great quotes in that article. I liked, "David Ortiz does the same bat flip after every home run. He carries a Mariachi band around the bases with him every time he hits one. But it's OK because he's Big Papi."
