    re: MLB Off-Topic

Speaking of agents not talking to teams...Anyone think anything will come out of Scott Boras bashing the Jays? I get he's an agent and is upset that the Jays are not only not willing to meet his/his players demands, but don't want any Boras clients at all, but would other agents possibly listen to him and not want to negotiate with Jays?

And off-off topic...Olympics over, now I can finally play MLB The Show again!

I had read a bit about Boras in some baseball book (can't remember, might have been Game of Shadows).
He was a former player who experienced the business-end of cuts and demotions, decided to take owners to the cleaners.
I get his side of it, but I wonder if the owners and GM's are going to start squeezing him out eventually. He's still very good at his job, but weren't there a few incidents this off-season where he lost clients (ala Cano), or was unable to secure better deals for others? (eg, Cruz).

So maybe the Jays won't be the only team who refuse to deal with Boras?

The thing with Boras' comments though is that they're pretty much what Blue Jays fans are thinking right now. It's not like he said anything that's new to us. Aside from that Boras has lost a lot of the shine he once had. He still has high profile clients but it seems to me his clout has been diminished somewhat.

Yeah, I saw that story. It doesn't help when he says, "After winter ball, all I did was eat."

When I was job searching a couple of years ago, they had a posting for the Commissioner of Australian Baseball. I have experience in fantasy baseball, OOTP, and Dynasty League plus a lot of the Show and PYS under the belt, but for some reason I was passed over.

I present what will the most insufferable baseball booth for years to come...

... Harold Reynolds puts it over the top. Guy is absolutely terrible in the studio, and even more so in the booth.

                          Thanks, FOX.

Wow…I actually really like Harold Reynolds. I didn't know anyone disliked him to be honest. He is insightful, entertaining, and comes across as down to earth. He isn't always right, but I don't put him in a class with Joe Buck as annoying at all.

A lot my issues with Reynolds comes from his unwillingness to accept anything the SABR crowd may put before him, be it stats or analytics. It just seems he wears his ignorance of advance stats like a badge of honor, which to me, is gear grinding to no end.

Another thing that gets to me is when he constantly interrupts other hosts during MLB Tonight/Hot Stove, etc. Often to the point where he is talking over everybody else on the show.

I think that's common (the anti-SABR stuff) with former players…but I think it's good to get a good mix of SABR guys and 'jocks'. While I enjoy Clubhouse Confidential, that show is better when Mark Derosa is on it instead of three nerds talking stats.
