Yea, FG is way overrated. Love them as a storehouse of information. But, as for the articles, meh. Some are quite good. Many are just flavor of the moment type deals. As mentioned here, you have to sift through a decent amount of junk to get to the good ones.

Yeah, they're *******s. I start reading their articles and it quickly turns into a bunch of contrived mumbo-jumbo. I don't think that helps people get into the game. If anything it turns them off. Too complicated. That's advanced level **** that even fans of the sport for decades have a hard time getting into.

So is MLB Network trying to f-up Quick Pitch?

Why am I seeing Mike Lowell providing analysis?

If you show highlights plus analysis (even if it just one guy) aren't you just some past tense version of MLB Tonight?

Advice to Quick Pitch's producer: if you feel you have enough time to cram in Mike Lowell (or any other analyst for that matter) into the show that means you are not showing enough at-bats, great catches, outs etc.

Keep it simple, don't get too cute by half.

Interesting...I don't read the site everyday but I'll look up a guy's stats then afterwards go to the main page and view anything that catches my eye. What I've read I've found to be insightful.

I don't get why we're already petitioning and voting for the All Star Game. That doesn't even happen for another 10 weeks.

Per Giants PBP announcer Duane Kuiper:

"Alright, let's go back to 'True Stories: This Date in Giants History' in 1883: the New York Gothams played their first game in franchise history and beat the Boston Beaneaters, 7-5. The Gothams changed their name to the Giants two seasons later... and the Beaneaters should have changed theirs after the game."

Bryce Harper set the record for runs scored in the month of April with 32.

The previous record was Larry Walker in 1997 with 29.

Sean Casey kept talking over him but that was really good by Thome.

Sean Casey nearly ruined every demo Thome was a part of last night from what I saw as I was switching between channels. That being said, I learned something really awesome from Thome regarding keeping one's swing mechanics going well throughout the season with his "king of the hill" drill where he'd take swings from the pitching mound. That was pretty damn good stuff there.

The whole "fun n' games" aspect of the demo on picking the ball at 1B was pretty thoroughly ruined by Casey's shenanigans. I loved that they were having fun and you need that kind of levity but at LEAST be serious for a little bit too man.....

I feel privileged to have gotten to watch Thome in his prime. He is severely underrated. One of the greatest hitters of all-time.
