    Agreed 1000%

Pieces of garbage like this need to be exposed and putting their name or picture out there is the best way of doing this.

I agree with releasing names. It's similar to breaking the law. If you get arrested on the streets, your name is on the news. Why should things like racial attacks at games not be viewed as same law breaking manner? If you're stupid enough to do things like that, you deserve to face consequences. Not just ban from building, but show people in your life the person you are.
Because Adam Jones was hit with peanuts.

I'm being serious. The actions are louder than the words. This isn't the first time a player called out fans in Boston. But the last time it was a story, the homerun leader said it and it was ignored because no one likes Bonds.

And it took peanuts because even after Jones publicly spoke out, and even after it was confirmed it happened, people on Twitter demanded that Jones prove it.

Also it's 2017 and pc tension is high.

Was that one racist or was it just some drunk idiot who threw a beer at a player?

He threw a beer can at Soo Kim, that wasn't a racism incident. I think SPTO may be confusing that with something else.

Either way, that was an instance that needs to happen more(the whole releasing the persons name/photo for extreme circumstances like that).

Sure, as DieHardYankee26 might've said, that person might not care because it might be known to people around them about who they are. But the main thing like what happened with the one in Toronto, is that it affects that persons work life too. Regardless if that person is thinking it, or might use those comments in their daily life around people they know, actually saying it out loud in public is something completely different.

At least showing people that if they do get caught doing stuff like that, their personal/work life gets impacted too should be enough to shut them up. Scare tactics.

But like I said before, it's still amazing to think that these things happen in public, fans and ushers probably hear these things, yet nobody actually does anything about it. It's nice that this is starting to get attention in the media, but still seems like something that should've happened a long time ago. Not just baseball but other sports too where these things happen.

The Blue Jays never released the name, it was released by the internet.

Not going to get into the why, nor am I disagreeing that it should happen, but you're unlikely to see a team publicly release the name of any offender.

But it was heavily pushed by the media who happen to be owned by the Jays owner. Might not be team announcing it, but name and pic released to police who then make it public could happen. Or at very least the media gets ahold of it.

                    Understood, and that's my point.

There are reasons you won't see the team release the name.

With everyone having mobile devices,is there not a way to send alerts to staff to deal with any kind of problem? I remember hearing about it on here in the past. Not sure where or what league, but I think there was an app or something that let people anonymously tip off the staff about any unruly fan. App might be abit much, but can't it even just happen through a DM or something?

Sure, nobody wants to be "that guy" that gets involved, but if it's anonymous, I'm sure people won't mind telling on someone. Don't think it'd be too much for someone to send a DM being like "There's some guy in first row of section 122 in a red shirt who's being real vulgar. Can someone come and deal with it?"

I know the Rockies (and I think the Broncos) have a number that you can text if there is an unruly fan. I'm not sure how prevalent a system like that is. I haven't noticed it at other stadiums, but I haven't paid attention either. I just know Coors Field because of the number of games I've been to.

A lot of stadiums have a number to text or something if you see an incident. The Red Sox have one, I went on their website and it says the number is printed on the back of the ticket, also that their rules include "watch your language." At a certain point, I think you come to the conclusion that the reason nothing happened is because the people around didn't consider it a problem or didn't care enough to at least text the number. There's nothing that can be done when even that low bar can't be met.

It may be early on in the season still but, the NL Central seems to be a crapshoot early on, Milwaukee has really been surprising so far and Thames has really been good for us so far, it probably won't last the entire season but it's a sign that we're starting to turn the corner after the rough patch we've been in recently.
