Rafael Palmeiro is wanting to make a comeback to the majors.

    He's 53.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Same old ****, A's and another stadium roadblock. The community College land they were committed to buy has pulled from them by the schools governing board. The A's had no opposition before and were all in on that site for the past year. Kaval says they have no plan B at this point.

Only other proposed sites were a waterfront area near the port that has weather concerns and really poor existing public transportation, and the crappy low value area the Coliseum is currently in.

A's stadium plans hit a big snag this morning. Back to the drawing board I guess. Sounded like a great location too.

Why does it seem this kind of ridiculous situation always happens to Oakland?! I wonder what made the governing board all of a sudden turn the A's proposal?

We are all wondering that too. There was an article last week saying there was some concern it would affect student studies and safety. Out of 81 home games, 11 are scheduled during the day, all others start after 7 when most night classes would be done by then anyway. Not to mention baseball is during the summer when most classes aren't in session. The A's talked about employment and internship opportunities and a partnership between the A's and the Community College. The board didn't even bother to meet with the A's to discuss their concerns. They simply voted against it.

They got a ton of backlash from the faculty at the college. Seems to have caused the tipping point.

Give it a few more years and the A's will be out of California altogether.

A few more years ... that city and those fans deserve more than another road block and kicking the can down the road for yet another season. So over it.

Clock is ticking for Oakland. Their revenue sharing is down to 50 percent in 2018, 25 percent in 2019 and 0 in 2020 under the CBA. They might need to start looking outside California.
