Yea it doesn't seem like a long view on his part. Almost like betting you're gonna flame out quick.

The funny part of this to me is that I originally read the company's name as Fart-nex and thought, who on earth would sign with a company that has fart in its name?

He actually did make some money playing in their minor league system for a summer.

Yeah that isn't nearly enough for Heaney. Still, the removed risk can't be overlooked. It sets an interesting precedent though.

This season more than ones in past I can think of,that media is picking up on umpires just doing things they really don't have grounds to do and blowing up at players/managers too. Ejections are main thing that stands out.

              A stat I saw today:
              Total Ejections:
              2015(as of September 10):197
              2014:199
              2013:180
              2012:178

Can't see data from previous seasons, but this will surely be first time in a fair amount of time we'll have over 200 ejections in a season.

Padres with most this year at 15,Marlins with fewest at 4.

I'm all for increased ejections, but only if we can increase the percentage of the Phillip Wellman-style ones. There needs to be more faux-army-crawling by managers at the ballpark.

That's interesting...you'd think with replay there'd be less ejections being the umpires are "supposed" to get it right.

I hear them on TV. Jays/SN do great job with their stats guys. I've actually thought about trying to do that(get a job in that area) but have no idea where to start.

One of the arguments is that umps ejecting more guys cause the umps don't have anything to say because of replays. Umps can't defend decisions anymore cause more plays are out of their control, so if a manager argues something, instead of explaining something, umps just eject them.

Arguing replays is like arguing balls and strikes, automatic ejection. Or guys might just get upset at a decision in a replay(or the "lack of evidence to overturn the umps call" so the decision just stands with whatever the ump said, even if there's no decisive evidence one way or the other), and players just chirp at the umps during games and umps just hit breaking point so much sooner and eject guys.

It actually does. I'm guessing "country joe" is Joe west? If so, he's ejected 9! 6 diff teams lol.
