I'm guessing the Padres have hosted tomorrow, but this will be the first time doing it the other way around.
But Jays-Padres I think have played 3 series or so in that timespan, how have all 3 been in San Diego? Isn't it supposed to rotate each time?

Padres are the ONLY team to never play in Toronto. I don't get MLB schedule making at all. They've played 4 series in Baltimore and Tampa each since 2002. Played 1 series vs Tampa in San Diego and 2 series vs O's in San Diego. How have they never played in Toronto, who is in the same division? They've only met 3 series ever. Meanwhile they've faced the O's 6 times?

The All-Star Game is also supposed to alternate. Things happen.

Still, just found that strange since no other franchise hasn't faced each other in both ballparks before, Jays-Padres in Toronto is the final one.

It's because interleague scheduling is dumb and doesn't make sense.

Actually interleague scheduling is pretty straight forward and I looked into this example a bit because it piqued my interest and this doesn't add up to the normal standard.

Aside from natural rivals which screws everything up the Padres should play in Toronto once every six years. If next year they are going there that means they should also have gone in 2010 but they didn't.

My only assumption is it was a logistic's issue. In recent years they've started adding home/away 2 game series for teams that are close but that would never have applied for SD/Toronto.

Never knew this...Tom Brady was drafted by the Expos! Was drafted as a C.

Don't know what happened that made him turn down a baseball career, but kinda surprised he did. Obviously now it'd sound stupid to say that a 4 time SB winning QB should've chosen baseball over football, but he was drafted in the MLB in 1995. Drafted 6th round in the NFL in 2000. So kinda surprised he did go with football seeing how the draft was 5 years later, and 6 QBs were taken ahead of him,and he was a backup QB at the time during his college football career.

Pressure from his father might have been one reason. Passion another. Not really sure.

Maybe he simply didn't want to play baseball. He was an 18th round pick out of HS and picked QB at Michigan (a power at the time) instead. His idol is Joe Montana, I don't think it's hard to figure out he'd rather play football.

It's not like in '95 he could've used NFL draft results from 2000 to make his decision

But still, prob would've been tough decision, getting drafted by a MLB team in 95, when you know you prob wouldn't be drafted in the NFL for a few more years at least. And like I said, he was a backup QB at the time, so you never know how your career would end up,if you'd ever even get a big shot. But obviously if football was what he loved, it'd be worth the risk, even if he didn't make it.

John Elway was drafted by the Yankees and threatened to play with them instead of the Colts if he wasn't traded.

Heaney, 24, has become the first baseball player to enter into a brand contract with Fantex, the company announced on Thursday.

Under the terms of the deal, Heaney will receive $3.34 million in exchange for 10 percent of all future earnings related to his brand, including player contracts, corporate endorsements and appearance fees.

The agreement is contingent on Fantex obtaining the financing necessary to pay the purchase price.*
