That would make it a hypocrisy. Unless we have 2 HOF's, including the PPEDHOF (the pre PED hall of fame).

If I was voting I'd still keep him out, regardless of how great he was pre-PEDs.

I'm just saying I can see why some would vote Bonds in and not Clemens.

^ And that's totally justifiable. What's not justifiable is if he truly didn't vote for ten players because it will lengthen the time to hear HOF speeches.

Still think some of the steroid users deserve to be on there (as well as Rose, who is not on the ballot at all).

You and I are of like mind. In my world i'd err on keeping em out. If a veterans committee votes em in then so be it but if i'm a voter i'd rather vote on my own standards even if the HOF doesn't have a clear cut definitive answer per PEDs.

This guy truly thinks there isn't a real Hall of Famer in this class? That reasoning alone should remove him from the process.

He should spend his energy on raising awareness for guys like Tim Raines.

I can understand his viewpoint on there being no HOF guys. I don't see Tim Raines as a HOFer. He had a great 7 year stretch then was just a solid every day player. He fits the same bill as Craig Biggio. Very good player, would love to have him on my team but not a HOF player. And I still believe if Biggio retires before getting 3,000 hits he is still fighting to get in right now. Chass doesn't do the steroid guys fine so that eliminates about the half ballot right there if you include the guys are just suspected i.e. Bagwell, Pudge. Guys like Varitek, Mags, Wakefield don't even deserve to mentioned on the HOF ballot. So you're left with a couple candidates on the edge like Mussina, Schilling, Guerrero, Hoffman (don't know how he feels about closers), Walker (who I don't buy as a HOFer).

This is pretty cool, it looks like Freddie Freeman will be able to honor his late mother who passed away of cancer when he was 10 years by playing for Team Canada at the WBC.

I agree tbh, as long as they are consistent with it. I don't really believe in borderline players getting in, for me it should be the best of the best. If a guy isn't clearly in that very top bracket in their position then I wouldn't vote for them. There are guys in there already who aren't in that category though, so from that standpoint people like Schilling, Hoffman and the like will probably get in, but I wouldn't put them in there as there were players in their position, in their generation, who were clearly better than them.

And Murray has been consistent on this. Last year he only voted 1 guy in and that was Jr.

I think there is a small shot someone can break Dimaggio's hit streak but I can't see anyone touching Ripken's consecutive games streak? There aren't that many ironmen left in the sport anymore. You only had 7 guys in the MLB that played in at least 160 games this past season. And only 3 (Alcides Escobar, Jonathan Schoop and George Springer) that played all 162. Also I can't see any of those pitching records being broken, with the exception of Mo's save record. If you go based off the total to lead the league this year (47) it would only take you just about 14 seasons to break that record.

If a very durable, awful outfielder with an amazing bat came into the league and was immediately the starting DH, and played at an All Star level from the get, then I can see Ripken's record fall.

Too bad the closest comparison is in the NL.

Out of that list i'd say the most attainable is probably the hitting streak but just about everything I can't see happening in this day and age.
