Trout has the potential but we'll see.

Keith Olbermann isn't one of them. I was surprised because I'm pretty sure he's a Yankees fan.

Really disappointed in my Brewers this year...

First team since divisional play began in 1969 to spend 150 days in first place but miss the postseason.

Gotta imagine Ron is gone... Time to bring in someone new, someone good.

How long before conspiracy nuts start saying the O's pitcher threw Jeter a meatball on purpose?

Lol that was a great moment for a non Yanks fan as myself.

I believe Ron Roenicke will be back. Hope I'm wrong though.

I read something couple weeks ago saying if the Brewers miss the playoffs "everything" will be re-evaluated.

I can believe that because Jeter wasn't just a great player he was basically the face of baseball.

So here's your weird stat of the year if you're a Blue Jays fan. This season has seen all 5 SP have double digit win totals. This is the first time that's ever happened and STILL they're not good enough to make the playoffs.

You'd think with a starting staff that accomplished that they'd be on their way to October baseball.

Really? Interesting how the "face of baseball" never won an MVP Award.

He didn't have to win an MVP. He won 5 World Series, played in 7, had countless iconic moments both in the regular season AND October (and November, for that matter), and played shortstop for 20 years for the most successful franchise in baseball history in the biggest city and media market in the entire country.

Ivan Rodriguez won an MVP but I guarantee you nobody who's not a baseball fan knows who he is. Damn near everyone knows who Derek Jeter is. He was unquestionably the face of baseball. And no, that doesn't mean the "best" baseball player though we say that like Jeter was awful or something.

I respectively disagree. Michael Jordan was the face of basketball, Mickey Mantle was the face of baseball, Muhammad Ali was the face of boxing, Arnold Palmer was the face of golf, Babe Ruth was the face of baseball,JackNicklaus was the face of golf, etc., etc. . Jeter is as synonymous with his sport as these guys were with theirs? Just my opinion.

Maybe I underestimated him. I didn't realize his Q-Rating was that high. (Just checked it)

Not sure, but he doesn't necessarily need to be. No baseball player will ever be as popular or be as much of the face of the sport as Babe Ruth was. That doesn't mean that Mickey Mantle, and other guys weren't the face of the sport during their career.

Maybe there hasn't been a face of baseball the last 15 years, I don't know, it's subjective, and baseball's different than golf or boxing that are individual sports, and basketball that is dominated by stars. But if there was one it was certainly him.

Well he was(hopefully), never on steroids like other players so I wouldn't expect him to win MVP against juiced up guys.
And by face of baseball I'm not talking about the best player stat wise but the player who represents the sport as a whole.

Two middle fingers raised to Derek Jeter, the cult.
