I'm not sure I've agreed with anything I've seen Manfred say yet.

If they reviewed strikes/balls, the games would take forever.

Something in the middle like robot umps determining if the ball was over the plate or not, but human umps saying if it's too high or low would be a good compromise.

And pitch clocks have nothing to do with umps, it's up to MLB to actually care/enforce it.

I'm against all of this nonsense because I don't think pace of play or game length is the reason "young people don't watch baseball."

            Albert Pujols through 109 games: .229/.274/.374, 71 wRC+, -1.5 WAR.

And the Angels are still on the hook for 4/114 after this season. Welcome to the new Howard extension.

The last time there was an eclipse comparable to the one today (100% totality, moved across the entire country from west coast to east coast) was June 8, 1918. That day the Pirates played the Brooklyn Robins (Dodgers).

Just going to say that although there is no chance in hell there was any reason for the MLB to plan this, they at least had the ability to, since this total solar eclipse was forecast at least as early as January 2016.

That said, on a coincidental perspective, that's pretty neat.

If it was planned, we would have seen more teams that played one another in 1918, play one another yesterday.

Just a coincidence. Baseball is great for these kind of stories.
