So who wins the NL MVP? Yelich or Baez?

Re: MLB Off-Topic
So there's a topic on another board I go to where we were discussing how you could probably watch a couple old baseball playoff games over the course of one of the games in this upcoming postseason. This got me to muse about the new mound visits rule. It's pretty much gone by without a hitch and the hand wringing at the beginning of the year disappeared (I remember some broadcasts would actually show the amount of visits but that to has dropped off the radar) Now though, I think this is where the rule is going to come into focus. We all KNOW that managers, pitcher coaches and ESPECIALLY catchers LOVE to go out to the mound during playoff games and this is where the rubber hits the road. I could easily see a situation where a team runs out of mound visits over the course of a game either in 9 innings or the course of an extra inning game.
This is something that bears study while watching the playoffs this fall. You guys think i'm onto something here?

Re: MLB Off-Topic
You get extra visits every time you being in a new pitcher. So no, I don't think it'll become an issue with how pitchers are utilized in the playoffs.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Unfortunately they have to introduce these new rules with no real teeth because people gonna overreact and go crazy otherwise. Hell, people were already mad about it even before they had all the information lol. The arguments went from, "this rule gonna **** everything up," to, "this rule doesn't do anything, so it's still stupid."Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Why would your vote be oblivious? I assume you've been paying pretty close attention to both of them?
I would probably vote for Yelich if I had to vote on it today. Baez has homered in each of his last 2 games and leads the NL in RBI on a team that probably earns home field advantage in the NL. But, Yelich has been fantastic. I don't think the Brewers make the playoffs without him let alone challenge for the division this deep into September.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Right now I think it's Yelich because of the way he has carried us this far... I'm really pumped to build around Yelich and Aguilar.
But I wouldnt be surprised the writers picking Baez because of Cubs winning the Central.Last edited by The Kid 24; 09-19-2018, 10:42 PM.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

They're close enough, though, that if Baez gets hot over the final 2 weeks and Yelich has some poor games, I might change my mind.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
He's definitely the one who got away.
I think that of the Giants as well, though. I don't even know if they pursued/considered him. He was literally the only player I cared to target this offseason. Now he's going off having an MVP season for seven million bucks on a brand new contract in his prime years. He is literally the most valuable player.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
