Now it makes sense why he changed his name from Rivero--was trying to get away from the feds.

I'm all for vilifying a guy for committing heinous crimes, but I also want to make sure and wait until things go from "alleged" to "convicted".

Vladdy Jr says he's never worked out at the gym or lifted weights.

That's both a good and bad thing.

Jays absolutely need a full conditioning plan for him this offseason.

Pirates did indeed fire Hurdle, good, now clean house.

Joe Maddon is out in Chicago. About a year overdue, but praise be.

The Chicago Cubs and manager Joe Maddon are parting ways after he guided the team to a winning record in each of his five seasons and the 2016 World Series title.

If I'm Hurdle, I'd be happy to be out of Pittsburgh. I believe it is also time to give Huntington the heave ho, he's had a rough go of it the past few seasons. You could probably say the same about Searage too.

Highest single-season run differential by a team in the 162 game era (1961-present):

0% chance he is not a manager next year.

I get why the change was made...but he is too good to be on the shelf if he can be like his past performance.

Could Grandpa Ross be the next Cubs manager?

Former Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross, who is considered a leading candidate to succeed Joe Maddon as the team's manager, was asked during Sunday's Baseball Tonight show if he'd be interested in the job if the Cubs called.

Only if he becomes the 1st player-manager in quite some time, imo. He could probably catch 40 games.

I don’t see Klentak going anywhere...didn’t he just get an extension after the offseason? I see Kapler gone and wouldn’t be surprised to see Maddon or Girardi in Philly.

Maddon is from PA and perhaps both PA teams will have job openings. I still think San Diego would be the better fit for Maddon's sort of laid back style. Fairly low expectations and lots of emerging young players there that could use some mentoring as well.
