    Wowowow.

Can’t imagine how he didn’t just catch himself, unless he was on his phone.

That is crazy sad. I feel so bad for his family.

The AAA regular season ended yesterday.

Their home run total, while using the MLB's balls, increased by over 2100.

From around 3600, to over 5700.

Also, Minnesota C/1B Mitch Garver on the home runs (he's almost quintupled his career total this year alone):

Why wouldn't you try when the ball carries the way it does? I certainly would. Or, not try and hit home runs per se, but try and create leverage with backspin for sure.

On another note, I'm watching the Giants game and noticed that Phase 2 of Ballpark Village is well underway and buildings are being erected behind center field. It's interesting because just a month ago I was looking up information regarding any updates on it and didn't see anything (I was making a desktop background slideshow of MLB stadiums, and when I got to Busch Stadium I noticed that nothing had come to form yet).

Next time you think about how you want baseball to be more like the NFL and NBA, take a moment to remember all the dumb bull**** we've been inundated with from these dumb *** players, teams and media especially today.

I don't want ANY of that **** in baseball. I don't care how popular other sports may be to some.

Appreciate what you have. A sport where, for the most part, the action on the field is what matters most and, for the most part, the players aren't ****-for-brains losers.

Is this prompted by Brown’s suspension?

Brown's actions today only accentuate my sentiments.

                  Re: MLB Off-Topic

I still find MLB's lack of quality control here to be quite baffling:

According to the organization that governs the minors, 5,752 homers were hit in the International and Pacific Coast Leagues this season. That's up from 3,652 in 2018.

Whatever the excuse is about things being hand-made or manufacturing processes being altered, there needs to be a good deal more consistency and quality control. The nature of the game can't be changing this dramatically year to year--it's unfair to the players and undermines the game's appeal to tradition.

I mean, it's not like the actual baseball is the single most important item in the entire sport or anything like that. Absolutely hard to imagine how an organization this big would simply lack manufacturing protocols and procedures ensuring a modicum of consistency in a day and age where almost anything can be built, manufactured, or systematized.

I don't think it's quality control causing this. It's intentionally done because people in charge of promoting baseball are too lazy to teach others that other stuff about baseball besides homers are cool.

Couple that with the analytics emphasizing how the ball is hit and how homers walks and strikeouts are the most important things, and you're going to see this increase.

Hoping for a trend reversal soon.

I think we will see homeruns return to "normal" next year due to the response/reaction that fans, players, and media have posed in regards to the dramatic increase in homeruns.

There is no doubt in my mind this was done intentionally, altering the baseball I'm referring to. Whether or not the MLB did the alteration with the intention of increasing homeruns dramatically or it was an unintended consequence is the only thing I am willing to "question".

Whoa! At first I was thinking of the father (Dave, is it?), but then I realized this is the son! He had to have still been in his 30s!

I didn't even know he was ill. This is dreadful.

Dave's son and Shelley's brother. Chris was 38. Sad.

As for the baseballs--I think you guys are probably right and this juicing has intentionally been done by MLB. I'm not normally one for conspiracy theories, but I think them being too stupid to make consistent baseballs is actually a less plausible explanation than they just wanted some more juicing. It goes nicely with Manfred and co disliking everything about the game and trying to change everything. Also goes nicely with how MLB was perfectly happy to turn a blind eye to the steroid era until they weren't.
