I meant to make mention of this but forgot...

In the MiLB game I went to the other day, only 2 umpires were present. One behind the plate and the other guy would roam for 1B to 2B (depending on if a runner got on base).

I always thought there were 4 umpires at a game in professional baseball. Really surprised me.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Hmmm...that must be for A ball. In the games I've gone to (AA & AAA) there 3 umps.

Yea, there aren't four umps in a game until the MLB level.

I saw a Reddit comment that said "A-Rod's going to buy the team and then give himself a new contract". Hilarious, it'll be interesting to see how this goes though. Joins the coaching staff? Does he play the rest of the year? Weird they'd have a press conference just to say he's being cut but also weird for Cash and Girardi to be at a retirement conference.

Maybe they're there to make sure he commits to retirement publicly and doesn't back out.

He should've retired after last season. You just know last year was a fluke or maybe he just stopped taking the PEDs this year.

Rumor is it's a lifetime contract. He's getting the Bonilla treatment on steroids.

I wonder if he walks away for free in exchange for his number 13 getting retired.

I'm not convinced he's going to let the Yanks completely off the hook. $30 mm is too much money.

I wonder if the Yanks are basically going to say "look, we'll give you $30M if you walk away." That way he gets his money, they get rid of the anchor that he is, and everyone wins.

Saw something on ESPN's Twitter sidebar that mentioned a possible "injury" that sidelines him for the season and then he can walk away in the offseason due to lingering concerns, something along those lines.
