If he retired he would forfeit the remaining $$ on his contract.

If he's medically disabled, he keeps getting paid, and I assume to Rangers get some sort of relief via insurance.

This and there is a good chance this has implications on his pension and funds available for future medical expenses. However, I don't claim to know anything about the MLBPA's labor/pension agreements when it comes to this.

He's on a quest to find out how many sports he's not good enough to play professionally. And how many unnecessary articles he can force ESPN to write.

          Godspeed, Tim Tebow.

Funnier thing is hearing stations be like "former NFL QB and ESPN broadcaster", which makes him sound bigger/better than he actually is.

Personally I'd like to see him make it, and see what he could do.

If he came around somewhere within the region in minor league baseball, I'd buy a ticket to see him play.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Good grief, Tommy La Stella. What a whiny baby. Instead of simply going down to Iowa for a month and getting called back up when the rosters expand, you've chosen this hill for your career to die on? Disappointing, but it's his life.

I didn't see anything that was outrageous...did he say something that I missed beside he's considering retiring?

I think it's just a "with great power comes great responsibility" thing. So many people would kill for what his issue because of their love for baseball.

It also sounds like he doesn't deserve to go down, but it's the only option the Cubs had (no pun intended). Kind of like how they had to do the same thing for Kris Bryant at the beginning of last year.

I think things will pan out in the end.
