I’ve done a 180 on this. I just found out that since there are no more wildcard tie breaking games, one of the tie breakers is total runs scored so pile on as many runs as you can no matter what the score is.

I was just watching ESPN Sunday night countdown and they highlighted players next after Miguel Cabrera who may reach 3000 hits; anyways, I didn't realise Manny Machado had more hits than Mike Trout as well as also being younger than Trout too

Must've missed my post that mentioned this, haha.

Trout has played about an equal number of games than Machado though and has 500 less AB's than Machado overall, which is an indicator of games missed but also walks drawn. I don't know how things will peter out over time regarding walk amounts, but that can be the deal-breaker regarding the number of hits you can get if you do/don't get the number of at-bats along the way.

Trevor Bauer filed a lawsuit against his accuser and her attorney. I do give him props for not naming her.

On Tuesday morning, SNY exclusively obtained the Yankee Letter, which has not yet been unsealed.

                  • The letter does not implicate the Yankees in a sign-stealing scheme similar to the one for which the Houston Astros were punished, when batters received the signs in real time without the help of a runner on second base.

                  • It does reveal -- as SNY has previously reported it would -- that the Yanks used the video replay room in 2015 and 2016 to decode sign sequences and pass them to a runner on second base, who would then relay them to the batter.

                  • For that, the Yankees received a fine of $100,000, a previously unreported amount.

                  • The letter clears the Yankees of using YES Network cameras to steal signs, which the Red Sox alleged.

                  • The letter does not accuse the Yankees of sign-stealing after the crucial date of Sept. 15, 2017, when Manfred announced that from that day forward electronic sign stealing would be subject to more severe punishments. In fact, the letter does not accuse the team of stealing signs at any point during the 2017 season.

I know it's early but the news of Dylan Lesko getting TJ surgery today means he'll probably slip a little in the 2022 MLB Amateur's Draft. He may not wait long though. Many scout's think he's a once in a gen type pitcher.

The draft is heavily tipped towards hitters this year. Mets get the 11th and 14th pick so I have a bigger than normal interest.

I treat every pitcher as if they’ll need Tommy John, so I wouldn’t think twice about using a high pick on someone that needs it. Id rather have a kid need it immediately instead of after 2-3 years in the majors and you lose two years of team control like the Mets did with Wheeler and Syndergaard

At this point I'm positive that the A's have more fans out of state than in state, and stuff like that doesn't even end up on their radar as things to care about lol.

I bet in 10 years high school pitchers who don't even need it will choose getting it as an elective surgery.

also, Tommy John for HoF: most famous pitcher, nay, most famous player to ever lace'em up. not a day goes by someone somewhere has TJ on their mind

How about we agree not to change the ball for at least 20 years, the heck is this garbage of having to wonder every year if the ball has been changed?
