With how much Nashville is growing, I could easily see a baseball team going there. They just built a MLS stadium that opened last year.

No way a city covers 75% of the expense, especially with these BILLIONAIRE owners. Why should they pay taxes to continue to fund these billionaire's pockets? Perhaps deferred/expunged taxes for x-years due to the added income to the city but raising taxes and using taxpayer money to built it? No way, hogwash I say to that.

It doesn't matter to me...FL is a deathtrap for baseball, outside of ST. I cannot believe they're actually building a stadium in Tampa - I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

It would probably be a new team and not the Expos, the Nationals wouldnt give up that history.

Rays fans wont have to worry about the early start times anymore, theyll be able to watch the games now right along with everyone else!

Nationals don't ever even acknowledge that history though.

The only time I could ever remember them mentioning it is when Zimmerman broke some record.

I don’t know if they always have, but last Sunday watching the last game of the season Lane Thomas scored his 100th run of the season. They showed a graphic listing all players in franchise history who had 20 SB and 100 runs scored in a season…and nearly all of them were Expos.

Of course they shouldn't. That's not to say nobody will. Case in point:

The Nationals celebrated their Montreal heritage (and wore Expos jerseys) on July 6, 2019. (I remember the date because that's my birthday, and the Expos were my team as a kid.) Then they expunge both Montreal's and Washington's postseason demons later that year. Coincidence? Yes, but it's a good story.

This is insane to me...per the article:

With an NFL loan and seat licenses, the Titans owners, Amy Adams Strunk and her family, personal contribution could be less than $200 million, or less than 10% of the projects sticker price of $2.2 billion.
No way in heaven I'd vote for that if I'm in Nashville, especially with how little this owner somehow got away with not having to foot the bill (but will reap the profits!).

That's not the problem. The problem is that the money's not there.

Nashville will get an MLB team, and it should be the Brewers. Milwaukee doesnt deserve that cheap *** franchise.

I think expansion will be Nashville and Oakland since the As will move to Vegas and if Oakland doesn’t work then maybe Salt Lake City.

Oakland has lost teams 5x, I think?

                          Golden Seals (NHL): folded
                          Raiders (NFL): moved to LA
Warriors (NBA): moved to San Francisco
                          Raiders (NFL): moved to Vegas
                          Athletics (MLB): moving to Vegas

                          Don't think it's happening, unfortunately.
