Well, they were starting to figure out Meche's stuff, but he was still outpitching Hudson. Win or not, I saw more than a few 1-2 counts from Meche, he was ahead of all the batters and just ran into some bad luck. Hudson looked to be struggling all game to keep the Mariners at bay, and I think really it was the lack of baserunning that did them in. Ichiro could have stolen a few bases and over-all in the game they could have manufactured more runs had they..well...RAN. Nobody on the Mariner's is running...why the hell not?? what the hell is wrong with Bob?? That really ticked me off. They're defense looked a little better, but they were still making mistakes. COME ON, GUYS! GET IN THE GAME!!

By the way, they have a better team to score runs with than they did last year. Replacing Cameron with Ibanez is really a stroke of genius, Cameron wasn't looking to hit much better than .250 once again, and replacing him with a hitter that...all he does is get the hits that matter, yaknow? Ibanez, .275, .280, much better chance at a hit, much better chance at scoring runs, and about the same ammount of pop in his bat. Only problem I can see is with Aurilia, the guy is too old and too slow and I just see no reason to pick that guy up.

But yeah, they have better overall hitters on the staff now, they can make it happen, it's just that they aren't in the game quite yet.
