Wasn't it Mickey Tettleton with his back totally straight, bat straight up stance? I remember that was kinda weird back in the day

Craig Biggio? He has a nice balanced stance. I agree with Mo and Counsel though. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jeff Bagwell, who has an unorthodox batting stance, but it is beautiful when he makes contact.

Bagwell's squating stance looks pretty ugly and uncomfortable. Julio Franco's with the end of his bat pointing at third base isn't too pretty either. I also hate Tim Salmon's stance and Carl Everett's is kind of weird. None can compare to Counsel though, that one is definitly ugly. He looks like he is going to strain his ribcage everytime he reaches up with his bat.

I just read the other day that while Counsell was in Arizona their hitting coach made everybody else turn their heads when Craig was taking BP. His stance was so bad he didnt want anyone watching him hit! He is one of my favorite players in the bigs tho, cause he played for Notre Dame!
