Hey, I don't care what they're changed to actually, I'm just one of those guys that don't understand the "ruining the classics" kind of thing--like putting barstool seats on the Green Monster, or changing this name, etc. AmeriQuest Field isn't the worst thing in the world. Truth be told, I'm happy they got rid of the name 'The Ballpark in Arlington', because everytime someone asked me something about where the A's are playing, I'd say "At The Ballpark in Arlington", and they'd say, "Okay, but what's the stadium called?".

BTW NYJ I don't think we'll ever see naming rights on Yankee Stadium at least while Steinbrenner is running the club. The man has enough money as it is. If Yankee Stadium were to be renamed it would've been already called Adidas Yankee stadium due to the Yankees/Adidas deal a couple or so years ago.

Same goes for Wrigley Field. The Cub faithful would riot. Besides it's already a namebrand ballpark Wrigley is a gum

It was ostensibly named after the Owner in the 60s August Busch. The linking of the team with the beer didn't happen til the mid 80s. So it verges between being a corporate name and named after an owner. I believe the team is no longer owned by the Busch family so it's clearly tied with the beer brand now.

Yeah the Cards are no longer owned by AB but the stadium has never changed names and it will not since it is coming to an end after next year. Also right on the stadium being named after the owner. Now while there was no direct ties at first it was his money from the beer company that led to the purchase of the team.
