Benson is putrid. I know Peterson can work wonders, but Benson has not shown anything that even resembles being worthy of the #1 overall pick. I'd much rather go after Zito; his stats are mediocre so far this year, he's probably the last choice of the Big 3 to be resigned, and he has shown a desire to work with Rick Peterson again. The only problem is Beane is going to be asking for a lot.

Kazmir, Heilman, and Aaron Baldiris for Zito. Make it so.

More than that. Heilman is average.

Ok, I may be reaching but why not take a chance on Pineiro from Seattle. Maybe offer Brazell (AAA) and Heilman (AAA). Pineiro with a change of scenery could blossom under Peterson.

The problem for any team taking a chance on Pineiro is that they really will be taking a chance, it has been discovered that Pineiro is pitching with bone chips in his elbow, so any team that trades for him faces the possibility that he might not pitch much for them, his elbow has held so far, but there is still 4 months left in the season.
