Could have fooled me since neither team was mentioned in the original post.

Re: Is the AL East really "mediocre"?

Who in the media is calling the AL East mediocre? I haven't heard anyone say that…

Frankly, outside of Oakland, everyone has been 'mediocre' this year.

                Pretty mediocre.

The Red Sox and Rays are awful. The Yankees and O's are just basically treading water.

I'm not too sold on the Jays, that lineup can bang with anybody, but the rotation is mediocre, and I keep waiting for the wheels to just come off. Buehrle is gonna get smacked around in the second half, I think regression sets in hard for him.

My prediction is that it will be a three team race till the end, and I have no idea who comes out of the east.

It's pretty bad honestly. Doesn't have one team I can see actually contending this year.

Both East divisions are pretty terrible honestly, although the top two teams in both divisions are not bad at all.

Nats, Braves, O's and Jays are good, the rest are pretty bad. None are legit contenders unless they make a big add imo. Maybe the Nats. I don't follow them a ton.

Yes its probably below average when you look at the run differential.

AL West and NL Central are probably the two toughest divisions.

It could be worse. Said "pundits" could be calling your division awful, like the have the AL Central since 2008. As a Tigers fan, I remember Jays fans bitching about how they would win the AL Central every year if they were in it...

It's not as good as a whole, IMO, but I'd take this years Orioles team over the 2012 team that won 93 games. If Crush can get hot and we get some stability in the back end of the rotation, I'll feel better about our chances.
