They offense is very good but you can't hide your pitching problems forever, so don't hurt yourself patting the A's on the back.

pitching problems? in my opinion, as an A's fan, i would say that the good batting for the a's this series mightve been a fluke if anything. things happen my friend, and if anything our weakness is the opposite of out pitching. and im not talking about just zito, hudson, and mulder. those three started off on the wrong foot and now every time hudson and mulder pitch you know its a for sure win. but lets not forget redman and harden: harden had 8 strikeouts last night and he pretty much has over 5 K's every game he starts. he pitched a 1 hitter through five innings till he had a bad 6th. redman has been pitching great lately too. our relievers have been saving some big games that the starters left off bad for em, and i respect em all. especially arthur rhodes who was pitching HORRIBLE early in the year, now he had a streak of convincing saves that show he's back on track. along with the whole a's pitching staff. i live with a cubs fan and i respect the team, the a's and cubs might have the two most amazing starting pitching staff in baseball, its just a shame that injuries have to hold the cubbies back. but if anything, what i SHOULD be worrying about is our batting, because sometimes our batters go on some bad streaks. well the a's play the cubs in a week at wrigley field, so i cant wait to see how we'll hold up against these NL teams on the road.

If you think the A's have pitching problems, you haven't paid much attention to the Reds. The Reds have a very below average starting rotation whereas the A's have one of the best rotations in all of baseball. Maybe the numbers don't show it right now, but it's still very early in the season. It'll even out at the end.... Jistic hit the nail on the head with his post.
IMO the Reds might have the best record in the NL, but they are hardly the best team. They've just been hot lately and I don't see them finishing the year any higher than 4th in the NL Central behind STL, HOU and the Cubs.
A's play the Cub's in a week. Unfortunately they've been riddled with injuries this year (Sosa, Prior, Wood) and haven't played to potential yet.
Just remember, it's a long season and much can change.Comment

yes that is exactly what i am trying to say, i am saying our batting is the worst aspect of the A's. the pitching is the best thing we got, and even if the A's scored a lot of runs, that doesnt mean that the batting is good, its just that the reds pitching is horrible. a's have very little to none pitching problems as of this point in the season.Comment
