From what I've been reading, it's a three way deal.

To KC: RP Mike Wood(from Oak), C John Buck(from Hou), 3B Mark Teahan(from Oak)
    To Hou: Carlos Beltran
    To Oak: Octavio Dotel

Looks like a deal that works out well for all sides involved considering their needs.

This is now what MLB.com is reporting. I guess the Pirate announcers didn't get it 100% right or I misunderstood.

Sounds like KC will use Buck as their starting catcher right away until Santiago comes off the DL.

I don't like this deal from am A's perspective... never mind it was just announced they're getting cash. However, now that Duchscherer is starting to mess up the A's need another decent reliever.

Good for the Stros, and every team involved really. Dotie always pitches better on the road, away from MMP. Check his splits.

                  Home/0-4/3.72era/4 saves/3 blown saves

                  Road/0-0/2.35era/10 saves/0 blown saves

I'm just glad the Astros kept Chris Burke.

What a stupid move for the Astros. Imagine a scenario where Dotel is traded for Dave Weathers, and Hidalgo finally starts to hit like he has in the past. That's exactly and precisely what's just happened for Houston. A stupid, stupid move.

Beltran is a better fit than even a productive Hidalgo. As much as I love Bidge, he has absolutely NO range or arm in center. Moved to left, in front of the short porch that is the Crawford boxes, he'll be better. Beltran has the speed to cover the huge Minute Maid center field. Plus on offense, he has speed, something the Astros have lacked for a while. It had to be made, a shake up had to come.
