So it's Bowa's fault that his starting pitchers get rocked on a nightly basis and that his hitters are going for homers when he is telling them to get on base?

Anyway, Philly's pitching is mediocre at best. Sure they looked good on paper, but Ed Wade has got some work to do...

And guess what Wade will do.........absolutely nothing. He'll say the starting pitchers will get better in the second half.

Meanwhile, Millwood will get to 300 lbs., Myers will keep getting bombed...while Wolf and Milton keep winning. So basically, the pitching will be a roller coaster ride.

We keep the same hitters, nobody leading off plus no clutch hitters leads to continuing to do one run games an offense like this always jacking for HRs instead of getting on base means no offense alot of times...SAME PROBLEM FOR TWO YEARS NOW.

P2K, what the heck happened to Millwood? The guy is huge now. I'm not surprised that he, Ponson, and Colon are all stinking up the joint. I think too many people assume that pitchers don't need to maintain their physique now. Sure you don't need to be in top shape, but you can't let yourself go.

If I was Wade, I would look into getting Nomar. Rollins is not a long term solutioon- like you said, he (like a "few" others) is always trying for the long ball. I like Wolf a lot, hes a solid pitcher. Padilla is good, if healthy. Myers might need some minor league time to find what worked for him last year. Millwood isn't gonna be around next year so Wade should move now to acquire a long term solution: maybe Kris Benson is in sights.

The internal solutions i.e. Floyd and Hamels are too far away in my opinion as well. Oh well, its gonna be interesting either way.

He's just not a good manager. When an owner spends lots of money and the team doesn't produce, the manager gets canned. Last year, Phillies should have won the division but choked to the Marlins in the end. They added Wagner and Milton, and they're struggling again this year. They need a change.

Agreed. Although, with the way we're pitching...bringing up at least Floyd might be a good thing, but oh well.

As for Millwood, who knows why he ballooned up. But he was behind Maddux and Glavine in ATL. He wasn't the No. 1 so he had no pressure on him And when he got plenty of wins, it was looked at as a great thing. Here in Philly, he just has come up extra small...or extra big, in his case

So it's Bowa's fault that his starting pitchers get rocked on a nightly basis and that his hitters are going for homers when he is telling them to get on base?

He's just not a good manager. When an owner spends lots of money and the team doesn't produce, the manager gets canned. Last year, Phillies should have won the division but choked to the Marlins in the end. They added Wagner and Milton, and they're struggling again this year. They need a change.

Bowa's first year here in 2001, Phils damn near won the division and that was without the spending. 2002, they went backwards but still contended even with the problems in the clubhouse and trading away Rolen. Last year with Thome, they almost had the division again despite no leadoff hitter and clutch hitters that get on base and send runners on base home. And this year, it's the same problem.

Owners spent money and got great cogs to this team. But when you don't sure of the REAL problems on this team, it's for naught. The Yanks spend mucho money and they still have problems. So what do they do?...they solve the problems by trading to correct the problems before the deadline. GM Ed Wade didn't do it last year and he is not going to do it this year either. I could bet money on that.

                              That's not Bowa's fault.
