It's a four team deal, including Bos/ChC/Min/Mon. It would send Cabrera and Mientkawicz to Bos, A-Gon to Mon, Nomar to ChC, and Lowe to Min. Also, prospects would be involved(I remember hearing Francis Beltran), and possibly Clement.

Rosenthal just announced it on Sporting News Radio, he said it isn't official yet.

I'll get a link when I find it(or if someone else see one post it) so the exact details are known...

Nomar to the Cubs ? Wow. Should be an interesting finish this year.

Then the Cubs must have given up some good prospects in the deal, because otherwise they basically traded A-Gon for Nomar, which is a frickin' steal.

Cubs gave up third baseman Brendan Harris and Class AAA righthander Francis Beltran. Beltran I know is one of the Cubs best prospects. A quick look at Harris's stats show him to be pretty decent too. He's hitting .308 with 10hrs, 33 rbis, 16 walks and 39 strikeouts.

          Re: Four Team Blockbuster!

According to a few sites I have seen the Cubs gave up the following prospects:

          Brendan Harris-3b
          Francis Beltran-RHP (Relief)
Justin Jones-LHP(Starter) who I believe has the highest ceiling of any of the Cubs prosects and just might have the best career and stuff of any of the Cubs top pitching prospects.

Francis beltran has talent but struggled this year out of the pen, but he could be a future closer, jones was a single A pitcher, and gonzo sucks you know what. Brenden harris is decent but they didnt trade any minor league pitching studs. A definite steal, everyone is shocked on sports radio. They always rip on dudes for suggesting stupid [censored] trades, and after hearing this they are laughing because this trade is laughable in theory. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it turns out Lowe and Clement weren't involved.

                      Here's how it looks:

Red Sox Get: 1B Doug Mientkawicz, SS Orlando Cabrera
Cubs Get: SS Nomar Garciaparra, OF Matt Murton(prospect from Boston, I believe)
Expos Get: SS Alex Gonzalez, MR Francis Beltran(prospect from ChC), IF Brenden Harris(prospect from ChC)
Twins Gets: SP Justin Jones(prospect from ChC)
Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II
                      Vets I | Green Bay Packers(11-6)
                      | Last Game: L 31-6 @ CAR (Wild Card Round)
Vets II | Washington Redskins(13-6) | Last Game: L 37-34 OT @ ATL (NFC Conference Championship)

Vets Bowl I Champion | Vets Bowl II Runner-Up

                          Re: Four Team Blockbuster!

                          Sure no prob...

Jones is a 19 year old lefty in Class A Daytona....according to several sites,(Baseball America being the primary one) he's overtaken Sisco as the #2 pitcher in the organization (this considering his youth and his potential rating) He's got the highest ceiling of any pitcher in the organization and has a funky splitter and a fastball that clocks in the mid 90's at age 19...granted his control is still developing.

In 3 Years...he'll be in the Twins rotation and in 5 be their #1 starter

Sisco is having a lot of problems and some think he might not be the dominant starter many think he could be.

As it stands now with the trade...here are the top pitchers:

                          1. Angel Guzman
                          2. Andy Sisco
                          3. Bobby Brownlie
                          4. Luke Haggerty
                          5. Jae Kuk Ryu

I wasn't saying Guzman was bad...but that Jones was the one many felt was the one with the most potential

And I'm not a Cub fan...just a die hard baseball fan

Hope this clears up my intent.

Yeah...he's supposed to be a pretty decent OF prospect in Class A with power...will most likely report to Class A Daytona.
