Definitely, in no way was I trying to say the Phils are going to lose 120 games this year. Either way...baseball is back!

Mike Adams will get a roster spot in the Dodgers bullpen and be healthy as a horse. Book it.

As far as the "Phillies" losing to a D2 college team, it's a Philly sports tagline: "We play down to our competition.... and sometimes even lower!!" (but I agree, it's really not a big deal....1 exhibition game and there are some D2 players who CAN play the game)

Today sees 2 exhibition games down in Florida ---

Detroit Tigers vs. Florida Southern -- 1:05 p.m.
Tigers starters look like this with Tim Melville getting the ball.
        Ian Kinsler, 2B
        Jose Iglesias, SS
        J.D. Martinez, RF
        Yoenis Cespedes, LF
        Rajai Davis, CF
        Nick Castellanos, 3B
        Jordan Lennerton, 1B
        Bryan Holaday, C
        James McCann, DH

Miami Marlins vs. Florida International -- 1:05 p.m.
Lineup vs @FIUBaseball with Brad Hand getting the ball.
        Valdespin RF
        Wilson CF
        Dietrich 3B
        Bour 1B
        Gillespie LF
        D. Solano 2B
        Kelly DH
        Brignac SS
        J. Solano C

Will one of these teams lose like the Phils did Sunday in an exhibition?

Doesn't this happen every spring? I don't really mean to imply the Phillies weren't trying to win, but were they? And did Tampa use aluminum bats?
The Phillies may stink, but I can't say that because they lost to a DII school.
What they do in April-September will reveal more about them even if they have a .200 winning pct. in March.

I'm amused and somewhat not surprised.

Maybe the machine was scuffing the ball.
This also makes me think an adult beer t-ball league would be quite amusing.

Was just about to come in and say this. Great to see baseball again, Reds and Indians next after this Pirates and Jays game.
